3 year old girl
9 year old girl
The Michigan Nanny Authority is now interviewing for the following position:
A loving family in Oshtemo is seeking a Full-Time Nanny for 40 hours per week!
Professional parents are looking to hire an experienced and dedicated Professional Nanny to provide fun, engaging, and loving care for the family’s two girls, who are 3.5 years old and 9 years old. The Nanny will work 8:30am to 4:30pm Monday through Friday for a total of 40 hours each week. Each week’s hours are guaranteed, and overtime will be paid for every hour worked over 40 hours in a week. The Family would like Nanny start in early-to-mid July!
The oldest girl is in full-time school, so Nanny’s days will be primarily spent playing with, loving on, and teaching-through-play with the 3-year-old. They will provide care for the third-grader as needed before/afterschool, during summer/school breaks, and on sick days and snow days. Nanny will partner with the parents to care for the emotional, social, developmental, and educational needs of both girls, and will be a loving, enthusiastic caregiver and playmate who loves the girls like family and is invested in their health, safety, education, and growth. Nanny may occasionally be asked to provide transportation to and from school for the oldest girl, and a family vehicle will be provided for transportation to school, activities, playgrounds, and COVID-cautious play dates. Nanny will become the girls’ best friend and favorite playmate, and will also be an important role model, supporting the parents as they intentionally raise kind, curious, and capable young women.
Nanny will also help with light child-related housekeeping such as doing the girls’ laundry, tidying and maintaining organization in the children’s rooms and play areas (while including the girls as much as possible), basic meal prep for the girls, and doing dishes and other clean up after meals and activities. The family has one friendly dog who loves to be involved in outside playtime and family walks, so Nanny should be comfortable spending their days with the family pet as well!
The mother works full-time from home in a home office separate from the main areas of the house. Nanny should be comfortable sharing their workspace with the mom on the occasional times they intersect during the day, and mother and Nanny will have a collaborative approach to creating a respectful work environment for each other so that each professional is empowered to have productive workdays. A Nanny who is flexible and adaptable, who has a good sense of humor, and who is self-directed and well-organized will thrive in their home and quickly become an invaluable part of the parenting team.
The ideal Nanny for this family has a deeply ingrained passion for working with children and has a positive and inclusive outlook on life. They are a professional career Nanny with solid work ethic and a high level of reliability and flexibility, can multi-task to meet the needs of two children of different age levels at once, and have a collaborative approach to sharing ideas and feedback with the parents about the children’s development and needs as they change. They are a maternal and loving caregiver who will naturally become an important part of the family and love the children in their care as if they were their own. They are also a creative and engaging playmate who believes in laying an early foundation for learning by engaging the children with books, songs, toys, games, activities, and exploring the world around them. The parents would prefer a Nanny with a degree or coursework in Early Childhood Education and would be thrilled to consider a Nanny who has previously worked as a preschool teacher or lead teacher in a daycare center. The older girl is in the Spanish-immersion program at her elementary school, so a Spanish-speaking (or Spanish-vocabulary-familiar!) Nanny would be a great bonus!
This position requires a one-year commitment to the family, and preference will be given to those who hope to stay for many years. Pay will start at $18-20 per hour, and nanny will have guaranteed pay, paid time off, paid holidays, mileage reimbursement and other standard nanny benefits. Details will be discussed with qualified nannies at an in-person interview.
