The Michigan Nanny Authority is now interviewing for the following position:

A loving family in Forest Hills is looking to hire a Full-Time Infant Nanny for 40 hours a week!

First-time parents are looking to hire an experienced, professional Career Nanny with extensive experience working with infants and toddlers to provide top-notch loving care and consistent learning and development to their newborn son, who will be 3 months old when Nanny starts.  Nanny will work Monday through Friday from 8:30am to 4:30pm for a total of 40 guaranteed hours per week.  Parents would like to have Nanny start by the end of September/early October!

Nanny will partner with the parents to care for the emotional, social, developmental, and educational needs of the baby boy.  They will be a loving, maternal caregiver who is invested in the child’s health, safety, education, and growth.  They will have knowledge of and/or experience with various approaches to infant care and be able to adapt to the parent’s desires for the child as he grows and his needs change.  Nanny should be engaging and attentive, able to plan gross and fine motor skills activities and sensory activities and should be fostering a love of and excitement for learning and exploring the world around them from day one.  Daily outside (weather-permitting) walks and/or playtime will be encouraged,  and as Baby Boy grows, they’ll be able to participate in playdates, story times, classes, and other age-appropriate social excursions..

The Nanny will also be responsible for light child-related housekeeping, including: doing the baby’s laundry, washing/sanitizing bottles daily and other dishes used, tidying and maintaining organization in the baby’s room and play room, and tidying up after themselves and the baby in the common areas (living room, kitchen, etc.)

Both parents primarily work from home (dad full-time, mom 2 days each week) in offices separate from the areas that Nanny and the baby boy will spend their time in.  They generally stay busy in meetings and on phone calls, so they plan to maintain a low profile during the day to keep interruptions (to their work and to Nanny’s work) to a minimum.  Nanny should feel comfortable sharing their work environment and brief parts of their days with the parents.

The family has one dog, an older and very friendly lab mix, who will ask for occasional pets and to be let out into the backyard.  Nanny should be comfortable sharing their day and workspace with the family’s furry child.

The ideal Nanny for this family is an active, fun-loving, patient, and positive career-minded childcare professional who takes pride in offering families a high level of reliability, responsibility and dependability.  They will have a deeply ingrained passion for working with children and take personal and professional joy in investing in children the children in their care, keeping them safe, healthy, and engaged, and watching them learn and grow under their influence.  Nanny will have excellent communication skills and will feel comfortable sharing ideas and feedback with the parents about Baby Boy’s development and his needs as they change.  They will be a creative and engaging playmate who believes in laying an early foundation for learning by engaging children with books, songs, toys, and exploring the world around them.  Above all else, Nanny will be a maternal and loving caregiver who will quickly become an important part of the family, a valued member of the parenting team, and will love, care for, and protect the baby in their care as if he were their own.  The parents would love to work with someone who has a degree or coursework in early childhood education or child development or who has worked with several newborns and/or infants in their career.  A minimum of 3 years of professional childcare experience along with a minimum of one year of professional experience working with infants is required.

This position requires a long-term commitment to the family, and preference will be given to the candidate who is willing to stay for 4+ years.  A minimum of 1 year commitment is required.  Pay will start at $22-30 per hour depending on their chosen candidate’s experience and education, and Nanny will have guaranteed pay, paid time off, paid sick days, paid holidays, mileage reimbursement, and other standard nanny benefits.   Details will be discussed with qualified nannies at an in-person interview.
